Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about how CityLens works and what's behind the recommendations.
What is CityLens?
CityLens is an AI-assisted city discovery platform for Lagos, Abuja and Accra. It combines a hand-enriched index of restaurants, nightlife, cafés, culture and stays with an AI search that understands natural-language requests like “quiet rooftop for a date in Victoria Island”.
Which cities does CityLens cover?
Lagos and Abuja are covered in depth today, with hundreds of curated places each. Accra is rolling out next, and more West African cities will follow.
How do places get on CityLens?
Places are discovered through social and web signals, then pass through an enrichment pipeline that adds photos, descriptions, locations and freshness checks. Listings that look closed, dormant or unverifiable are held back from recommendations.
Are the recommendations paid or sponsored?
No. Listings cannot pay for placement in search results or category pages. Rankings reflect profile quality, ratings and relevance to your request.
How does the AI search work?
Ask in plain language — a vibe, an area, a budget, an occasion. CityLens checks its internal index first and can fan out to live web discovery when local coverage is thin, then returns a ranked shortlist with context on why each place fits.
I own a place listed on CityLens — how do I correct or claim it?
Email hello@citylens.city with the place name and the correction. Owner tools for claiming and managing listings are on the roadmap.
Is CityLens free?
Yes. Browsing the catalogue and using the AI search are free. CityLens also works as an installable mobile web app — open citylens.city on your phone and add it to your home screen.
